Service Terms

Effective August 9, 2026

These terms explain how quotes, appointments, inspections, reports, repairs and other services are handled by Inferno Fire Protection Ltd. A quote, work order or written agreement may add to or change these terms for a specific job.

Important: Nothing in these terms limits a right or obligation that cannot legally be limited. Fire-code requirements, directions from an authority having jurisdiction, and an approved written work order take priority where applicable.

1. Accepting these terms

You accept these terms when you approve a quote or work order, ask us to begin work, sign electronically or in writing, or allow us to perform an agreed service. The person approving work confirms that they are authorized to act for the customer and the service location.

2. Quotes, scope and authorization

Quotes are based on the information available when they are prepared and remain subject to the stated expiry date, equipment access and observed site conditions. Only the work specifically described is included. Repairs, replacement parts, permits, monitoring work, after-hours work, unusual travel or other out-of-scope services require customer authorization unless an emergency authorization arrangement has been agreed in writing.

A request submitted through this website is not an accepted quote, confirmed appointment or service contract. We will confirm scope, timing and price directly with you.

3. Free 15-Minute Consultation

The complimentary consultation may be provided by phone or video. When location and scheduling permit, it may instead be a brief in-person walk-through. It is intended to understand your needs and may flag visible fire-equipment concerns, inspections that appear overdue, or work that may not have been completed properly. It is an initial screening only—not a complete fire inspection, engineering review, formal Facility Safety & Maintenance Assessment, certification, legal opinion or approval from an authority having jurisdiction. Any inspection or assessment that follows will have its own confirmed scope and price.

4. Inspections, assessments and reports

Unless a work order states otherwise, inspections and assessments are non-destructive and limited to equipment, records and areas that are safely accessible at the time of service. Findings describe observed conditions on that date. Concealed conditions, inaccessible devices, undocumented changes and failures that cannot reasonably be detected may not be identified.

Every paid inspection includes the inspection report described in the quote at no additional report fee. A report is not a guarantee that a fire, loss or future equipment failure will not occur. It is not an approval, occupancy authorization or waiver from a regulator, insurer, manufacturer or authority having jurisdiction.

5. Customer responsibilities

The customer agrees to:

  • provide complete and accurate site, equipment and contact information;
  • provide safe, timely access to equipment, records and service areas;
  • identify known hazards, impairments, hazardous materials and special site rules before work begins;
  • have an authorized contact available when reasonably required;
  • review reports promptly and arrange correction of identified deficiencies;
  • obtain permits, approvals or shutdown coordination assigned to the customer; and
  • keep contact and billing information current.

If a wet- or dry-chemical suppression system is impaired, discharged or removed from service, the customer remains responsible for protecting the affected operation and following directions from the authority having jurisdiction, insurer and qualified service personnel before resuming cooking, painting or other protected activity.

6. Deficiencies and additional work

Identifying a deficiency does not mean it has been repaired. We will explain recommended or required corrective work and obtain authorization before performing billable work outside the agreed scope. The customer is responsible for acting on deficiencies and urgent safety concerns, including any notification or shutdown required by law or an authority having jurisdiction.

7. Pricing, invoices and payment

The approved quote or work order controls pricing. Required taxes are additional unless expressly included. Our goal is to show the total invoice at or near the time of inspection whenever practical—not send a surprise bill months later. Any approved extra work, customer-requested change, corrected clerical error or required tax adjustment will be clearly identified.

Payment is due according to the invoice. Overdue amounts may be subject to a disclosed service charge and reasonable collection costs where permitted by law. The customer must raise a good-faith invoice question promptly and still pay any undisputed amount when due.

8. Scheduling, cancellation and site access

Appointment requests are not confirmed until we confirm them. Timing may change because of weather, road conditions, emergencies, parts, site access or circumstances outside reasonable control. If a confirmed visit cannot proceed because access, a site representative or required shutdown coordination is unavailable, a previously disclosed travel or service-call charge may apply. Any cancellation terms specific to a job will be disclosed before confirmation.

9. ABC Fire Extinguisher Trade-In Program

Trade-in eligibility and value depend on the unit type, condition, ownership, current program rules and our inspection of the equipment. Website descriptions are not a guaranteed credit or offer to purchase. Any credit and the handling of an accepted unit will be confirmed before the exchange is completed.

10. Electronic records and communications

With your consent, we may provide quotes, confirmations, reminders, reports, invoices, signatures and other service records electronically. You are responsible for providing a working email address and reviewing service communications. You may ask about another reasonable format, although some electronic features may then be unavailable.

11. Workmanship and manufacturer products

We will perform our services with reasonable skill and care. If you believe our workmanship is defective, notify us promptly and provide a reasonable opportunity to inspect and, where appropriate, re-perform the affected service. Equipment and parts may also carry a manufacturer’s warranty, subject to that manufacturer’s terms. These terms do not remove any warranty or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded.

12. Limits of responsibility

Fire protection reduces risk but cannot eliminate it. To the maximum extent permitted by law, neither party is responsible to the other for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, including lost profit or business interruption. Inferno Fire Protection’s total responsibility for a claim arising from a particular service will not exceed the amount paid for that service. These limits do not apply to fraud, wilful misconduct, gross negligence, personal injury caused by negligence, or any liability that cannot legally be limited.

13. Events outside reasonable control

Neither party is liable for delay caused by events outside reasonable control, including severe weather, road closures, fire, labour disruption, supply interruption, government action or utility failure. This does not excuse payment for work already completed.

14. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of Manitoba and the applicable laws of Canada. Before starting formal proceedings, the parties will try in good faith to resolve a dispute through direct discussion. Subject to any mandatory legal right, unresolved disputes may be brought in the courts of Manitoba.

15. General

If part of these terms is unenforceable, the remaining parts continue. A delay in enforcing a right is not a waiver. These terms, together with the approved quote, work order and referenced policies, form the agreement for the service. Material changes will apply prospectively unless the customer agrees otherwise.
